Compartmentalization is required by many users and institutions.
In some clinics every doctor can see every patient, and this is good for urgencies. But in some cases there are privacy concerns. Some doctors do not want to share some patients, because of medical or even financial reasons.
I made a file that limits doctors to see his own patients, instead of all of them.
This module lets the admin to create a compartment name, and the users with this compartment name will be able to see the patients assigned to this compartment.
You can have several patients witin the same compartment. The compartment can be named as a doctor or as a location.

Code Editing in OpenEMR
Check the enclosed PowerPoint presentation to see how diagnostic and procedural codes can be edited in OpenEMR. Prices can be added for accounting procedures.
Several customers demanded financial features, in order to integrate the EMR with the administrative sector of the clinic or medical office. Some medical practices have a price associated to them, often provided by the insurers or other companies. If the customer provides us their price list, we can integrate it with the practice codes and names, in order to keep the debt in the patient record.

According to the project leaders, the new features and modernization make this OpenEMR release a significant advance in the field.
OpenEMR is a popular open source electronic medical records (EMR), and the authors announced that version 5.0 has achieved the complete ONC certification. ONC is the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), who established standards for structured data provided by EHR software.
This ONC certification is needed for medical practices in the USA to participate in Medicare’s Quality Payment Program and to comply with MACRA. MACRA is Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.
OpenEMR is a very complete medical practice management solution. This Complete Meaningful Use Certification was the result of a community effort along several years, involving over $220,000 in code and effort contributions.
The number of enhancements brought into OpenEMR was huge and includes standardization of patient health info, care coordination, more patient engagement and privacy, safety and automated metrics calculations, along with many clinical quality measures.

There are many commercial products to computerize the medical history, both in desktops and in the cloud. Their cost is generally proportional to the amount of benefits they offer.
